Fruit and vegetables are now often orientated by hand and placed in a machine. That requires a lot of manpower and repetitive actions. The machines must be equipped with necessary protections to prevent human contact with sharp objects and knives in the machine. In many cases, this will be at the expense of the speed of processing. We are now testing with one of their systems. In the future manually deploying products into the machine will be over. Pick and place technique offers a lot of opportunities in the food processing and packaging industry. There is stil so much more to develop!
